Give Peas A Chance

They asked me at school yesterday if River had ever eaten Peas. I told them that she had. They asked me if she liked them. I said that I thought so. They said that they tried to feed them to her and the horrible looks on her face after the first few bites convinced them that the Fruit Medley was a better choice.

I think she was scamming them and I have the proof:

Their were quite a few accomplishments lately. River can stay seated for a longer period of time by herself now. Notice in the pictures that she is not sitting back. She actually prefers to sit up and handles the high chair very well now.

She has become much more affectionate. She likes hugs in the morning upon waking and will lay her head on your shoulder for comfort not just sleep.

Even with a terrible throat infection she was still a trooper the whole time. We took her to the visitation for Matt Maupin last Saturday before we knew she was ill (we certainly received a rude awakening Saturday night) and ate at Cracker Barrel for dinner before making the long drive home. She liked their applesauce but loved the Gumby that Rob bought her in the Old Country Store more.

Saturday night the screaming began. And Oh the screaming was horrible. She honestly sounded like she was in agony. We were thinking that she has a tooth ache or an ear ache and we call the doctor. They agree that those are both possibilities. We give her Baby Tylenol and hope for the best. Needless to say that was a sleepless night. Sunday was worse. But throughout she tried so hard to be upbeat and her normal River self.

She is doing so much better now. I had to keep her out of school on Monday in case she was still contagious but she has been getting progressively better every day. She slept very well last night and thank goodness so did we.

She is so much more aware of her surroundings. She watched a herd of deer in the front yard a few days ago and could track them even in the field across the street. She enjoys the dancing on Dancing With The Stars too.

She loves peek a boo and will play that for hours if you let her. I had her laughing out loud last night by hiding under the bar and popping up over and over again.

She has started to stand upright in her jumpster and her walker. This is exciting. She even plants her feet correctly. I know that a lot of people say that you don't want them to learn to crawl or walk too soon because they get into everything but I am so concerned that she is bored.

I will make sure and post more developments next week. Until then have a great week.
