D.I.Y.

.
We set off on a journey to Ikea to pick up a tiny table and chair set. River has noticed the difference between her high-chair and the chairs that Jo and I sit in and wants her own little version. After looking at Babies'R Us and some other stores, we decided that the only place to find a set made of real wood that wouldn't require a second mortgage was everyone's favorite Swedish Meatball and furniture shop.
.

Of course, we had to stop by the Ikea Cafe. River had mac and cheese and cookies and milk. I couldn't get Jo or River interested in the Swedish meatballs. They were delicious! Thank you for asking.

Jo and River making for the check-out lane with their pre-fab furniture booty.
.

And here it is: Assembled and sealed with a clear-coat. We did have to make a compromise however. . we have dinner at the big table with River in her high-chair but we have breakfast every morning at the little table. Jo gets the chair opposite River and I sit on the stool with my knees around my ears.
.

.
The next week found River on another DIY adventure. This time with her Mommy and Memaw, the destination was Home Depot. . and the project was. . of a much more comfortable nature than tiny wooden furniture.

Glad to see River is learning such good shopping habits at a early age, Ikea and Home Depot, what not to love...Gretta
