Christmas Day 2009

Another great Christmas has come and gone. This year saw River begin to enjoy more and more of the traditions and customs even if she doesn't quite understand them. Santa ceased to be a big scary guy in red and, as it turns out, is actually a pretty nice guy. So nice that River was happy to share her special mint Oreo cookies.. and River never shares her mint Oreo cookies!
The following are some photos from Christmas morning 2009. Hope you had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
.
.
.

All ready for Santa.
. Stockings hung by the the chimney with care.

. Apparently Santa isn't as big a fan of mint Oreos as River.

. 7am: River is up and liberates Elmo from his cardboard prison! The thankful muppet immediately pledges his undying love for her.

. River is perfectly happy with her new friend and can't believe that this is just the beginning!

.

Still very sleepy but pushing on.

. She really started to get the hang of unwrapping.

. What a dish! Yum! And the food was great too!

. Phase II: The grandparents have arrived and the showering of gifts continues!

. Note the gray cat: She thinks it's all about her.

. River LOVES puzzles. .

. . . almost as much as candy canes!

. Christmas time with Memaw.

. It's an Alvin and the Chipmunks card!

.( Still thinks it's all about her.)

. Uncle Monkey brought lots of cool stuff.. including a stuffed version of himself so that he will always be there!

. Christmas time with the Giant Pepaw.

. Reading a story with Granny.
