American Girl

We were on our way to the local Orchard to buy some fresh fruits and vegetables when we remembered that the National Guard based in Carrollton was coming home after being in Afghanistan for the last two years. Everyone was invited to come to General Butler State Park and watch them arrive.

We decided that this would be something interesting for River to experience so we made the stop.

It was pretty sunny and warm but I had her covered in sunblock and we kept her in the shade.

She was having issues with this particular hat. She doesn't mind wearing hats but this one had a strap to attach under her chin. She didn't care for that so we just let them hang.

She was curious about all of the fire engines and people walking around.

We took a break for a snack. Sweet Potato and Banana Puffs are good!

She is a natural Patriot!

I don't know many lullabies so River has been raised on patriotic songs like "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America".

Always such a good girl.

Thank you to the soldiers! What a beautiful day to come Home.

Looks like a very beautiful day. I remember well the feelings when Mikey came home. God Bless them each and every one, so happy for their families.

Nothing wrong with singing patriotic songs, patriotic is GOOD!

I have been shopping for stringless hats, maybe one is going to show up at your house soon.
